Red Flags for Oral Cancer
If risk factors like smoking or tobacco use put you at an increased likelihood of developing oral cancer, we will carefully assess the areas inside and outside of your mouth for signs of abnormalities. Please note that even healthy individuals are at risk, which is why we screen every patient for signs of pathological tissues.
Some of the most common symptoms to look for include small sores, lumps, or bumps along the gums, check, tongue, roof of the mouth and back of the throat. However, oral cancer can also impact areas along the lymph nodes that can only be felt through palpation. Early diagnosis is essential so the most effective treatment possible can be obtained.
